I'm quite surprised to see Juno on the Best Picture list. Pleasantly, but still surprised. I don't know if I can think of another film that should take its place, though. Eastern Promises was good, but I don't think it was Best Picture good.
ReplyDeleteI still need to see There Will Be Blood and then I'll have seen all the Best Picture nominees and most of the others. I'm a little surprised Persepolis didn't make it onto the Best Foreign Film list, but since there was another category for it (Animated Feature), perhaps it's understandable.
I must say that of all the movies nominated here, the only one I have seen was Pirates of the Caribbean 3, at home, via Netflix.
ReplyDeleteI adore Viggo Mortensen but I doubt he has a chance of winning. I actually get to see Eastern Promises this upcoming weekend, if all queues well....
I will watch anything with Javier Bardem in it. Even if he plays a psychopath. he's brilliant and awesome and i have such a crush on him.
ReplyDeleteAs usual I haven't seen the best movie, actor or actress nominees. I've seen Ratatouille, Pirates of the Caribbean and Transformers. I enjoyed them all, and I could see them all winning in their categories.
ReplyDeleteJavier Bardem was amazing in No Country for Old Men. I could see that winning Best Picture. Holy FSM it was awesome.
ReplyDeleteAnne, Have you read it yet?
ReplyDelete( No Country For Old Men)
No, not yet. Another one to add to the list! :)
ReplyDeleteHoly crap! Just saw There Will Be Blood, and was blown away by Daniel Day-Lewis, the cinematography, the score, and the sound editing. I'll try to post some coherent thoughts on the score tomorrow, but it's late and all I can come up with is "OMG it was perfect!"
