What A Waste *** UPDATE

Yet another talented young actor is gone.

Heath Ledger was found dead today in New York.

Please, please, please people, moderation. He was only 28 and tremendously talented.

God I hate this.

****UPDATE:

I thought I'd add this beautiful quote from the father of his Ex-Fiancee' (and Mother of his daughter) Michelle Williams:
"I think Tennyson got it right in the poem when he described someone as having died at a young age but burning the candles at both ends, and oh what a beautiful flame he made, that was Heath, what a beautiful flame he made and a great talent."

"My heart goes out to everyone in his family and my family."

"The saddest thing is his daughter whom he just loved dearly."

A-A-A-A-A-A-A-Allison.......

I've always loved Elvis Costello. He was so fresh and amazing when he was young, and over the years he has shown how truly amazing and gifted a musician he is.

So in honor of his incredible wife's 43rd birthday, (which was actually yesterday) here is his first ever TV appearance.

I can't actually verify that, but that's what the submitter claims. Anyway, it's simple and beautiful, just him and the electric guitar.

Enjoy.

Rest In Peace - Robert Goulet

Dead at 73 -

What a set of pipes. He may have been a bit of a cliche' in recent years, but the man could sing.

I saw him on stage about 17 years ago. He was in a decent touring version of Camelot. The others weren't awful, in fact they were pretty good, but when he came on stage, his voice, his stage presence just made everyone else seem small and insignificant.

Rest in peace Sir Lancelot.

To Him, Silence Was Golden

The world lost a true Artist today.

Marcel Marceau passed away today.

I was lucky enough to see him on stage when I was in high school. It was probably the fall of 1978, my Junior year. I have never looked at Stage Movement the same way since. I learned more about acting and stage presence that night than I ever have since, and he never uttered a word.

A master, indeed.

Rest in Peace Marcel, and thank you.

Karma's a Bitch........... Ain' It?

I suppose I should feel guilty that this makes me happy.

Paris Hilton sentenced to jail.

But I don't.

I hope she likes chicken.

That's Hot!

I Love This Lady!

Today is the 74th birthday of one of my favorite comedienne/actresses, Carol Burnett.

I loved her show as a kid. We watched it every week, and then again for years in syndication. Do you have a favorite Carol Burnett Show memory? I loved her take off on Sunset Boulevard and Gone With the Wind, but Mrs. Wiggins may have been my favorite. That show had such a cast!

She is also an accomplished stage actress. She was the original Winifred in Once upon a Mattress way back in 1959. I love that show. I played King Sextimus back in college. If you don't know the show it is a take off on the Princess and the Pea story.

She was also the original Charlotte Hayes in Ken Ludwig’s Moon over Buffalo. I directed this show back in 1998, and it is still one of my all time favorites. If you've never seen it - SHAME ON YOU! You owe it to yourself to find a production and go see it! I will warn you, it is a bit racy, so don't bother with a high school production because the Drama Police will make them cut out all the good parts. I promise, you will laugh hard and often.

She is talented, tough and classy.

Happy birthday Carol!!!

Rest In Peace - Larry "Bud" Melman

I was saddened to see that Calvert DeForest passed away. He was better known as Larry "Bud" Melman on the David Letterman Show.

I was a huge Letterman Fan back in the early 80's. I spent many a drunken party in college doing my Larry "Bud" Melman impersonation, which basically consisted of throwing back my head in that offhand fey way, and laughing like Truman Capote. Always a hit with the ladies for some bizarre reason.

Rest In Peace.
