They're Back!

Just when you think it's safe to go into the backyard again. . . . .

They're back.

Yes, the dreaded puss caterpillar, AKA - asp, has made a reappearance at the castle grounds. I had these last year on my loquat tree. I noticed one this evening, and closer inspection revealed 7 of them. They were much tinier than last year's, but the fact that I have them two years in a row worries me. I obviously didn't get them all last year.

It's funny how all roads seem to lead back to Rene'. It was right after I made that post last year that she called me with hopes of reconciliation. I tried. God how I tried. We made it all the way to October.

I don't see that happening this year.

Yeesh! Like the dreaded squash bugs. Hate 'em, hate 'em, hate 'em.

Puss caterpillar/Rene -- you made the connection, not me! So how do you get rid of the puss caterpillar?

My greenfly has made a comeback. (I guess that pests are always with us.) Also, I think that deer have been nibbling on my sambuca plant!

Noooo! How frustrating. Here's hoping they don't get much bigger before you can get rid of them.

How is the garden aside from those pernicious pests?

Oh I remember them from last year. you disappeared and I thought they might have eaten you, or turned you into a pod people.

Bee -
How to get rid of them? That's the problem. The experts seems to agree that spraying them only makes them come back in greater numbers the next year. I've been plucking them ff with a wooden skewer and wrapping them in a plastic bag and squishing them.

Anne - My garden is dried up and dead. No rain in weeks, very high temperatures.

RQ - LOL No, I had disappeared because I was too weak to say no to her. Not that I really wanted to, I guess.

Nice hearing from you. I was so tired of Jenn's ego and mouth that I way ready for her to leave. I am so happy my Corey girl is still in it. I guess we have 2 more shows to see if she makes it. In July Kitchen Nightmares will be back. I love that show. Have you ever watched?

Have a great weekend.
