The One Where I Say Thank You

Thank you.

I didn't start this blog to bleed my heart out over a love gone wrong. I didn't start it to prop myself up emotionally, but you guys have certainly done that.

I'm better today. I had to take the boys to get books and schedules and school ID's yesterday, so I took the afternoon off. After my errands, I went home and did laundry, and housework. It was the best day I've had in about three weeks.

I enjoyed the housework. The sheer luxury of scrubbing my sink and doing laundry in the middle of the afternoon was very satisfying. I cooked a "weekend meal", then watched TV with the boys. It felt normal. That in itself is a victory.

I'll take any victory, no matter how mundane it may seem.

It has been a tough summer for me.

I am hopeful that the fall will be better for me. I know I'm not out of the woods yet on this one.

I promise I'll try to get back to regular on this blog. I haven't exactly been much of a commenter lately either. When I get like this I tend to pull back into my shell. I don't feel like I have anything worthy to say, so I don't say it. I'll try to be more diligent.

Have you ever noticed that when you're in the state that I've been in lately that every song lyric seems to fit your situation to a tee? I do.

Victory!!! Glad you had a good day. Isn't it funny how housework can sometimes be so enjoyable and satisfying?

There's a line in an Ani DiFranco song that echoes the last bit in your post: "every pop song on the radio is suddenly speaking to me." I think I need to go listen to that album again...

you are so correct. sometimes when i turn to sports talk radio I think they are referring to me :)

glad you had a good day and dont beat yourself up over lack of posting or commenting.

you are in our thoughts and prayers as we know we are in yours.

and that has to be the best cover of Crazy I've ever heard!

It's amazing sometimes how good old elbow grease usually does the trick. I'm really glad you're feeling better. Hey, I've got some windows... ;)

Hey! I'm so glad you're feeling better, more like yourself. And isn't it nice to be part of this supportive community when you really need it? Life is full of that ups and downs stuff and it's much easier to weather when you know you're not alone.

Take as long as you need to heal, my friend.

This time of year is always a time for change. School starts, the days get a little bit shorter. For me, it has always been a time of renewal and for starting new projects. I hope you find something interesting to grab your attention.

Yes, you've been in the fire all summer . . . and hopefully, as the Texas temp eases off so will your feelings of loneliness and "craziness." I know that you have lots of people who care about you . . . and some of them can be found right here!

You're not the only one who's been in a funk lately--I've been malaise-y myself, as have several bloggers I read--and I'm glad you're pulling out of it. Physical activity definitely helps. I have to think cooler weather would be a big help, too!

Okay, so... why not plan a trip to New England? Bring Dave and Lisa too! Y'all come on!

You, Sir, will be in my thoughts 'till the tide turns and you get what you long for and deserve.

Best of luck to your brother and to those in his world.

I know I've certainly missed you around my blog. But I understand these spells. I haven't had a very easy past 12 months but I feel like things are settling down finally.

Take your time but we're ready for you when you are!!
