I've banned FOX because of their SUPPORT of Sarah Palin -- and all other liars and shit-stirrers. Well, as long as there is a ban I suppose it doesn't matter how we got there. (BTW, what are freepers?)
Thanks for the explanation, but I may decline your kind offer. I try to avoid garbage if I can. I have an uncle who is a dedicted FOX news watcher, and one Easter dinner with him taught me all I need to know about what I don't want to watch, listen to, or read.
I was just over at dcup's . . . reading about all of the crazy things that her kids are being told at school by the spawn of the Obama-haters. My deepest sympathy and admiration goes out to those of you who are waving the liberal flag in the midst of people who are "seeing red" right now.
Ha! I'm guessing you also heard about Red State's "Project Leper?" They're out to make political lepers out of anyone who said negative things about Palin. It comes as no surprise that Michelle Malkin is involved.
Bee - Thanks for the moral support! I'm wondering if I should report these conversations to the school so they can use this opportunity to talk to the kids about diversity, civil rights and civics.
dcup, I SERIOUSLY think you should report those conversations. Their parents should be ashamed of themselves. As we all know, sometimes school has to compensate for what parents don't teach their kids . . . or in this case, do.
General question directed to anyone who wants to hazard a guess: Do you think any of these people actually gave Obama the courtesy of listening to his acceptance speech?
Bee - I think I'd better report those conversations, too.
To answer your question, the people I work with and know who did not support Obama did not watch his speech after the election. I was saddened to learn that.
I'm a bit addicted to C-SPAN's Washington Journal and I can tell you there are some really angry, hate-filled callers the last few days.
Anne - I actually snorted out loud at that picture.
Bee - To answer your question, no I can almost guarantee they didn't. The mouth breathers around here certainly wouldn't. (Not that any of them are speaking to me yet)
I've tried several times today to open the link. Anyone want to offer a summary?
I was so proud of my students who were McCain supporters. Perhaps some of them just sat there and silently stewed, but those who spoke up were extremely gracious and DID listen to both speeches that night, McCain's and Obama's. Not only that, but several students made the point that they would have preferred McCain, but Obama was now their president and they would support him.
These McC supporters were also highly offended by the crowd's booing Obama during McCain's speech.

Oh my word! They are so precious, those freepers!
We should all add out own boycott comments.

Bee-
Freepers are the commenters at the site Free Republic.
They are some of the most bat-shit crazy far-right types on the internet.
Spend an hour reading through a few comment strings over there and you'll need a shower.
Bob - Don't you love it when someone stirs them up? btw - I've been boycotting Fox for years! LOL
