Happiest of the happy birthdays to your son!

This'll reveal my age, but I'll always remember my 13th birthday because it two days after Columbia blew up.

And Tim Curry can't possibly be 61. No. Way.

Sounds like I have about 11 years on you or so.

Heh. 11 years ain't no thing.

What I find mildly shocking is the thought that in two years, the freshmen here at the university will have been born when I graduated from high school. *sigh*

Another shocker was when I was teaching a class the other night to university juniors/seniors and I asked a question to which no one responded. I'm up in front of the class going "Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?" and everyone just looked puzzled. I mean - how can they not know Ferris freakin' Bueller??

Or, as another example from the teaching realm. I teach "Writing for Business" (exactly as exciting as it sounds) and part of the text goes over appropriate words in communication. One of the examples is "Instead of saying "My girl," you would say "My secretary."" I used that example and followed it with "Of course, since none of you are starring in a 1940s noir film, I don't expect that one to be an issue for you."

Dead.silence.

Up until I started teaching I thought I was kind of funny, you know?

LOL!!!

That is good. A few weeks ago I tapped #3 son on the head and said, "Hello! McFly!!"

He looked at me like I was crazy.
