So I guess I should read this, Huh?

h/t to Gourmet Goddess for this little quiz.

I've never read this book, but I guess I will.

You're The Guns of August!

by Barbara Tuchman

Though you're interested in war, what you really want to know is what
causes war. You're out to expose imperialism, militarism, and nationalism for what they
really are. Nevertheless, you're always living in the past and have a hard time dealing
with what's going on today. You're also far more focused on Europe than anywhere else in
the world. A fitting motto for you might be "Guns do kill, but so can
diplomats."

Hey, you won a Pulitzer! Well done, you!

I've not read it, but it's on my list. And on my bookshelf, actually.

I still need to get Cloud Atlas

I just finished it last night. A-maz-ing. And eerily timely. I just started Mitchell's Ghostwritten, which my friend Katie (the not-single one) assures me will blow my mind even more. :)

Oh, and btw, I'm Catch-22. I'm not quite sure how to interpret that, but in any case, this is what the quiz says it should tell me:

Incredibly witty and funny, you have a taste for irony in all that you see. It seems that life has put you in perpetually untenable situations, and your sense of humor is all that gets you through them. These experiences have also made you an ardent pacifist, though you present your message with tongue sewn into cheek. You could coin a phrase that replaces the word "paradox" for millions of people.

hmmmmm. . . .??

Indeed. Pacifist, yes. The rest, eh, not so much.

And the paradox thing: "I do not think it means what you think it means..." :)

I got Lolita the first time I took the test. I wasn't satisfied so I retook it. Twice. So far the only one of these I've already read was the Gourmet Goddess's Mists of Avalon. I'd better get reading.
