Ugh!

Exhaustingly busy today. I'm trying to get a little ahead so I can take off this weekend and enjoy the Holiday.

I will definitely have to work tomorrow, depending on where I am after tomorrow, Saturday remains in question.

Either way I expect to take Sunday and Monday off, which in and of itself is a holiday!

I expect we might hit the Bay House again, but I don't know for sure. Clinton is going to Garner State Park with his friends. He will love it! I'll keep you guys posted as to my plans, but what about yours?

Tell how you plan to spend the holiday.

Well? I'm waiting . . . . .

"How do I plan to spend the holiday?"

The same as I do every day - trying to take over the world.

Nice, . . . . Pinky approves.

No idea!!

We are going to a concert tomorrow -- classical. And after that, who knows? I hope that I will get some sleep and be able to catch up on my reading. I hope that we will be buying a table and a BBQ for the garden, but if it rains we might be too demoralized to invest in any outdoor equipment.

My oldest daughter is going to Spain for a week . . . nice, huh?

I'll let you know, as the weekend develops . . . and please let us know what you are up to as well!

Spain for a week sounds perfect.

As long as she stays off the plain.

(The rain ans all, you know.)

School trip? Or fun?

Here's hoping you get a full three days of holiday relaxation!

I have no plans as of yet. The two people with whom I spend the most time, the Suitor and Katie, are out of town until mid-week next week, so I'm a bit at loose ends this weekend. There will certainly be housework; maybe a long bike ride; probably cooking and bread baking.

Bread baking sound good. Our weather doesn't look very promising for outdoor activities.

But we'll see . . . .

Possibly a walk of some sort on Saturday if it doesn't rain. It's supposed to pour on Sunday--good weather for studying for finals (Roxi), catching up on sleep, and a little cooking (making bread and gumbo).

Have a good long weekend! Take lots of photos!!

I forgot it was a holiday weekend.

I'll probably continue to be working on the Big Work Project (a/k/a accreditation), the success of which determines the future of my school. Fortunately, I'm only a support cog, not the main wheel on whom all depends.

But:

1. The more I can get done now, the more I can afford to take a real vacation, not the working vacation I took recently, and go see my mother next month.

2. I'll bet paint will be on sale this weekend!!! I might go buy some.

(Aside to Bob: hurry up. I suspect you would do a better job than most.)

Mmmm Gumbo . . . If it rains, that just might be the ticket!

Precisely!

I think I'm holding down the fort while MathMan takes Cupcake to a wedding. Otherwise, I plan to do absolutely nothing on purpose.

Have a lovely weekend.

D'oh! Bob, I was thinking the same thing before I clicked on the comments!

No major plans here to report.

Do you have good gumbo recipes? Share, please!

I grew up in Maryland where all things crab (including soup) are king, but in my adulthood I've made good friends with gumbo. But strangely, I've never cooked it.

I am going to the Jonestead in northern Wisconsin to see my mom and hang out with a friend. I am not sure why I am going, other than I can bear to sit around the house again this weekend.

I am going to a minor league baseball game on Saturday as this might be the last time i see this kid I used to work with and I feel as though I owe him one more game. Sunday I plan to go to the laudromat and do laundry since I have sold my washer and dryer and Monday I plan to do nothing.

With everybody out on the road - we are staying put. There is nothing lovelier than a big city when empty. As we only need to drive just 15 minutes or so to get to fabulous hiking areas, there is no need for travel. I am also planning to go out on a photo safari in the city, lots of interesting motives there. Oh, and I have to work one day - or a bit on every day over the long weekend; I have not made up my mind yet.

Petra, I'll be looking forward to the pictures!

My weekend will be spent getting things ready for the packers who will be here in--ack!--10 days! to move me home. I did take yesterday off to make it a four day weekend. Drove my car to Munich and dropped it off to be shipped home.

That was the only part of the weekend that I had looked forward to....

Ah, well, the basement and its piles-o-crap call me even as I write this...
