You Have An Assignment

Attention all readers of this blog -

You Have An Assignment

Go rent, (or find on cable)

The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada

Watch it, then come back here to discuss.

I have several theories/questions.

Fascinating film.

As I watched it, the one thing that kept coming into my thoughts was The Power And The Glory.

I haven't quite yet decided why, other than the setting. Perhaps there are parallels between Pete and the whiskey priest?

That is only scratching the surface. Layers and layers in this one.

Must we have read The Power and the Glory in order to participate?

Oh No! - It just kept popping into my head while I watched it.

However, The Power And The Glory should be read for its own sake, because it is very, very good.

ps - made your cookies Saturday. OMG!!! chocolaty goodness!

It was a very interesting story about friendship, atonement and karma. It left me wondering what ever happened to the blind man.Did he starve to death or kill himself. He played the general in Tommy's movie In the Electric Mist. I hope you recommend more movies for me to watch.
